Sporty Kid, Bad Kid /

The first illustration concerns a mother writing about her son's long-boarding & competitions. Although reluctant, she decided to support him as he was passionate, interested, keeping fit & having a good time. Her call made light of the rediculous 'helicopter parenting' style that is so pervasive — the gist suggested dropping the worry & encouraging sport — in the end she contrasted long-boarding to her downhill skiing. // The second piece was for a piece by a parent about a kid in Montreal who was troublesome all his life — to the point of being kicked out of the house — due to his continuing anger & destructive behaviour, much to his parents dismay.
