As the "great" & "boomer" generations age, one of the leading causes of death & despair is dementia, taking a massive toll on the sufferer, families & the health-care system. These were two different articles covering the same topic, where one relayed the story of a son who used to watch his father shave as a young boy, but now has to enact his entire morning ritual. While the second article suggests that it's time to limit the use of essentially useless & ineffective drugs, returning to a point where we treat people with respect, time & compassion. I heartily agree.

It's time to abandon heavy-handed & generally ineffective treatment, allowing people with dementia (& their families) to live out their time with dignity, instead offering them time & compassion.
