The Progressive ran a piece on the growing number of people who find themselves homeless after the economic meltdown. Many of these people work or have been recently let go with no pension, finding themselves unable to afford a house or rent, yet also falling through the cracks. In an effort towards some stability & safety, individuals are creating communities under overpasses, in forests & on the outskirts of towns where they can live, have running water & pool together what resources they have. A sad state where perhaps Wall Street offices should be given up to those who lost their homes at the hands of the wealthy.
